Obama losing favor?

While browsing facebook, I came across a facebook-sponsored poll that many of my friends had taken. The poll asked "Will you vote to re-elect Obama?" I took the poll, voting "yes" because I think that he's been doing well. Yes, taxes have been/are going up, but it's all because we need it to fix this country. Also, I believe strongly in Universal Healthcare. However, on seeing the results, i noticed an overwhelming vote for "no" (71.2% at my latest check). This surprised me because Obama had a 69% approval rating back when he was voted president. So, interested, I investigated further. Apparently Obama has dropped down to 50% approval rating. Shocking, considering it's been less than a year.

So why are people losing their faith in Obama? Is it the tax increase? Is it the Universal Healthcare? Is it all the naysayers that oppose him finally getting to people?

Personally, I think it's something else. I think people are realizing that Obama is just another man. Let me explain. When Obama was elected, he was treated as some sort of superhuman candidate. He was black. He had ideas. He was promising exciting things. He was like nothing we'd seen for eight years. He could turn water into wine and produce healthcare for all.

Guess what? He's just another president. The money's gotta come from somewhere, and that somewhere is taxes. We've got a 11.7 TRILLION dollar debt. And no, Obama's not going to do all that he promised. He was campaigning. They all make promises they can't keep. Guess what? Bush did it, too. It's a common occurence. Get over it. He's better than what we had for the last eight years.

Oh, look! Another blog!

Welcome to my new blog. Doctor O'Connor and Captain Bolos made us make blogs for AIS class, and this is my blog, chocked full of bloggy goodness. This blog will contain my rants and raves about America, both good and bad, but I'll probably stop posting June 24th (end of school).
